How This Site Came to Life
Why This Site Exists
As former President of the Alumni Association, I remain committed to supporting SWD, especially through scholarships. This site is a centralized hub where SWD students can easily find and apply for scholarships designed for them. SWD had a profound impact on my life, and scholarships changed the trajectory of my future. I created this site to help students reach their full potential and experience the power of staying connected—I call it the SWD Effect. It also features other scholarship opportunities, summer programs, and more to help students explore and thrive
Our Mission
The mission is to support SWD seniors as they step into their next chapter. The goal is to remove financial barriers and celebrate diverse paths including college and trades so that each SWD student can reach their full potential.
Our Approach
How Does This Work
• Scholarships specifically for SWD students are listed on this site.
• Students apply directly through the online portal.
• Applications are reviewed by the scholarship committee.
• Students and the school are notified of awards.
• Recipients are recognized at the SWD Scholarship Awards Ceremony in May.
Evaluation
The committee considers academics, extracurriculars, and leadership to identify deserving recipients.
Financial Need
Students with demonstrated financial need are prioritized to ensure access for all.
Diversity and Inclusion
Applicants from varied backgrounds and career paths are encouraged, supporting a wide range of future goals.
